[10-06-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck by Car in Long Beach Crosswalk

A man was killed after being struck by a vehicle while walking in a marked crosswalk in Long Beach on Tuesday morning, October 6, 2026.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, the incident occurred at around 5:38 a.m. near the intersection of Anaheim Street and Junipero Avenue.

Police said the man was walking in a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a 2010 Toyota Prius.

Long Beach Fire Department paramedics provided emergency medical care before transporting the pedestrian to a local hospital. He later died from his injuries.

The Prius driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police said speed, distracted driving, and DUI were not suspected as factors.

The investigation remains ongoing.
