[10-05-2026] Stanislaus County, CA – 63-Year-Old Bicyclist Killed in Suspected DUI Hit-And-Run Crash in Modesto.webpA 63-year-old bicyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Modesto on Monday afternoon, October 5, 2026.

According to the Modesto Police Department, the collision occurred at around 4:00 p.m. near Needham Street and McHenry Avenue.

Police said a white Chevrolet Silverado traveling on Needham Street entered an alley west of McHenry Avenue and struck the bicyclist, who was traveling westbound on Alice Street. The driver allegedly left the scene following the collision.

The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities said his identity would be withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Investigators later located the Silverado in Modesto and stopped it near 9th and M streets. Police identified the driver as 33-year-old Manuel M. and said he was suspected of driving under the influence.

He was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of murder and DUI.

Police continue to investigate the fatal hit-and-run.
