[10-01-2024] Pedestrian Fatally Struck by SUV on State Route 94 Near Chollas Lake Park in Lemon GroveAn unidentified male pedestrian was killed after being struck by a 2009 Toyota RAV4 on state Route 94 near Chollas Lake Park in Lemon Grove early Tuesday, October 1, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was standing on the westbound side of the freeway, east of College Avenue, when the vehicle struck him around 1:30 a.m.

CHP public affairs officer Jared Grieshaber stated that the man died at the scene. The driver of the SUV, a 48-year-old San Diego woman, suffered minor injuries.

The incident remains under investigation.
