A motorcyclist was injured following a crash involving an SUV in downtown Sonora, Tuolumne County, on Monday afternoon, September 30, 2024.
According to local authorities, the crash occurred around 1:00 p.m. on North Washington Street near the Red Church.
The rider, identified as 20-year-old John L. of Sonora, was riding a 2007 Suzuki motorcycle when he collided with a 1998 Toyota 4-Runner driven by 76-year-old Linda W. of Columbia.
The rider sustained moderate injuries and was airlifted to a hospital in the Central Valley, where he remains in stable condition. The vehicle driver was unharmed in the collision.
The police department confirmed that alcohol and drugs were not factors in the incident, and the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
