A 25-year-old woman was killed after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run collision on Hughes Avenue just south of Belmont Avenue in west Fresno on Monday night, September 29, 2025.
According to Fresno Police, officers responded to the crash at 8:15 p.m. and found the woman unconscious in the roadway.
Despite efforts to perform CPR and transport her to the hospital, she died from her injuries. Police said the victim had exited a vehicle involved in a disturbance, and as she stepped onto the roadway, she was struck by a separate dark-colored sedan, which stopped briefly before fleeing the scene.
Police are searching for the vehicle, which may have damage on the passenger side. Authorities are treating the incident as a fatal hit-and-run, with the suspect facing possible felony vehicular manslaughter charges.
