[09-29-2024] Child Critically Injured After Car Crashes into Tree Near Sacramento StateA child is fighting for his life after a car collided with a tree in Sacramento on Sunday afternoon, September 29, 2024.

The crash occurred just before 4:00 p.m. at the intersection of Carlson Drive and J Street, near Sacramento State. 

According to the Sacramento Police Department, the child sustained life-threatening injuries, while two other passengers, both men, were injured but are expected to survive.

Police confirmed that the child was in a car seat at the time of the crash, and they are continuing their investigation into the cause. 

Drugs and alcohol have been ruled out, but other factors are still being considered.
