[09-28-2026] San Diego County, CA – 70-Year-Old Man Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle in North Park

A 70-year-old man was killed after being struck by a vehicle in San Diego’s North Park neighborhood early Monday morning, September 28, 2026.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident occurred shortly before 5:30 a.m. on El Cajon Boulevard near 30th Street.

Police said a 66-year-old man was driving a 2006 Mercedes E350 eastbound on El Cajon Boulevard. At the same time, the pedestrian was standing on the south sidewalk before stepping into the street, where he was struck by the vehicle.

The pedestrian was transported to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries. His identity was not immediately released.

The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
