A driver was airlifted to the hospital with major injuries following a two-vehicle collision in the community of Oasis, Riverside County, on Sunday afternoon, September 28, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 1:00 p.m. on Harrison Street south of 70th Avenue.
A 34-year-old man driving a 2005 Dodge Dakota entered the intersection from Polk Street in an unsafe manner, colliding with a southbound 82-year-old man driving a 2018 Toyota Tacoma.
Both vehicles sustained major damage. The driver of the Dodge Dakota was airlifted to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, while the driver of the Toyota Tacoma did not sustain any injuries.
CHP reports that the Dodge driver is suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
Authorities continue to investigate the collision.
