[09-27-2024] Elderly Man in Mobility Scooter Fatally Struck by Multiple Cars on West Harris Street in EurekaAn elderly man in a mobility scooter was killed after being struck by multiple vehicles while crossing West Harris Street in Eureka on Friday morning, September 27, 2024.

According to the Eureka Police Department, the fatal crash occurred before 8:45 a.m. between Spring and Albee Streets near the Eureka Mall. 

Reports indicate that more than one car was involved in hitting the man as he attempted to cross the road.

Traffic along West Harris Street was slowed following the crash, but the roadway was reopened by 10:30 a.m.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.
