Three-vehicle collision happened after an attempt to rescue a kitten in Coronado on Tuesday morning, September 26, 2023.

According to the Coronado Police Department, the incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. on the Coronado Bridge.

One driver crashed into the stopped car, causing another driver to hit the back of the second car. The occupant of the stopped car reportedly got out of the vehicle to help a kitten.

Two drivers complained of experiencing minor injuries and were transported to a hospital. The kitten was unharmed and was taken to the shelter operated by PAWS.

Both eastbound lanes were closed for 20 minutes, and one of the lanes reopened in a few minutes. By 9:30 a.m., both lanes were cleared, but it took a couple of hours for bridge traffic to return to normal.
