A man was killed in a two-vehicle collision on Washington Road in unincorporated Merced County on Friday morning, September 26, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 5:55 a.m. A 1998 Toyota Corolla traveling westbound on Washington Road failed to stop at a posted sign at State Route 59 and entered the intersection, where it collided with a northbound 2023 Kenworth semi-truck. The semi-truck, driven by Karamvir S., was traveling at approximately 55 mph at the time.
The impact caused fatal injuries to the driver of the Toyota, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not released the victim’s identity pending family notification.
CHP investigators are still determining whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
