A pedestrian was hospitalized with major injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Redding on Thursday morning, September 26, 2024.
According to Caltrans District 2 and the Redding Police Department, the crash occurred near the intersection of Placer and Pine Streets.
Authorities stated that a driver traveling east on Placer Street hit the pedestrian while they were using the crosswalk. Authorities confirmed that the driver had been arrested for driving under the influence.
The roadway was reopened by 11:45 a.m. as the investigation into the incident continues.
