[09-24-2024] Pregnant Woman Loses Unborn Child After Being Struck By Vehicle in FairfieldA pregnant woman lost her unborn child after being struck by a vehicle in Fairfield on Tuesday evening, September 24, 2024. 

According to Fairfield police, the crash occurred at around 7:18 p.m. as the woman was crossing East Tabor Avenue near Manor Place with her toddler in a stroller, which was narrowly missed.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officers. The woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but her unborn child did not survive. Her toddler sustained minor injuries and received care. 

Authorities do not believe impaired driving was a factor. The details are still being investigated. No further information is immediately available.
