[09-22-2024] Motorcyclist Hospitalized After Collision with Vehicle in Mission Valley WestA man riding a motorcycle was sent to the hospital after colliding with a vehicle in Mission Valley West, San Diego, on Sunday evening, September 22, 2024.

The San Diego Police Department reported that the rider was on a 2014 Suzuki motorcycle and was heading west on Hotel Circle South around 7:30 p.m.

At the same time, a 66-year-old driver was driving a 2015 Toyota Prius eastbound on Taylor Street, where he had a green light and turned left onto the Interstate 8 on-ramp.

The motorcycle, however, did not stop at the red light and collided with the Prius. The rider suffered a fractured pelvis and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Fortunately, his injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Authorities stated that alcohol was not a contributing factor in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
