[09-22-2023] Sacramento County, CA – Motorists Severely Injured Following Traffic Collision on Highway 50

An unspecified number of motorists were severely injured after a traffic collision in Sacramento on Friday morning, September 22, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on Highway 50 near the Pioneer Bridge, between 5th and 15th streets, at around 3:00 a.m.

Authorities reported that two of the vehicles involved sustained significant damage. The occupants suffered severe injuries as a result of the collision.

For a brief period, all lanes were closed to facilitate the removal of the vehicles from the freeway.

In order to determine what caused the crash and what events led up to it, the authorities are conducting an investigation, and have yet to release further information.
