[09-21-2023] Construction Worker Hospitalized After Solo-Vehicle Crash in BrentwoodA construction worker was hospitalized following a solo-vehicle crash in Brentwood on Thursday night, September 21, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on Sand Creek Road between the eastbound and westbound off-ramps of Highway 4 shortly after 10:30 p.m.

Witnesses reported to the authorities that a red Ford F-150 drove off the highway and crashed into a hill below the overpass. The construction worker at the scene was struck by the driver, who allegedly fell asleep at the wheel.

The victim sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. At the same time, the pickup truck driver suffered severe injuries and was rushed to John Muir Medical Center via ambulance.

No further details were released. Together with the Brentwood Police Department, the CHP is investigating to determine what caused the crash and what events led up to it.
