[09-19-2025] Marin County, CA – One Person Sustained Minor Injuries After Hit-and-Run DUI Crash at Grand Avenue and Mission Avenue in San Rafael

A San Rafael man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a hit-and-run crash at the intersection of Grand Avenue and Mission Avenue in Marin County, on Friday night, September 19, 2025.

According to San Rafael Police Sgt. Justin Graham, the suspect broadsided another vehicle at about 11:30 p.m. after failing to stop at a stop sign. 

The driver of the other vehicle suffered minor back injuries. Officers later found the suspect, 30-year-old Rodolfo V., hiding in a nearby yard. A breath test indicated a blood-alcohol level of 0.20%.

Rodolfo was booked into the county jail on suspicion of intoxicated driving, hit-and-run driving, and driving while his license was suspended for intoxicated driving. The Marin County District Attorney’s Office filed related charges and noted that Vera is a “habitual traffic offender” with three or more DUI convictions in the past 10 years. He remained in custody with an arraignment scheduled for Thursday.

Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
