[09-18-2026] San Diego County, CA – SUV Leaves Roadway in Late-Night Crash Near East Mission Rd.

A white SUV went off the roadway and into the bushes in San Diego County late Friday night, September 18, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported shortly after 11:20 p.m. near East Mission Road and Tierra Roja Drive.

CHP logs indicated that the SUV’s airbags deployed, and an adult woman complained of pain following the collision.

Initial reports indicated that two people appeared to be stumbling and may have been under the influence. CHP said a driver was being evaluated for DUI.

The incident was later classified as a noninjury collision, and authorities requested a tow truck.
