According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident occurred on Highland Avenue near Fountain Avenue around 10:00 p.m.

Authorities stated that It was determined the pedestrian was walking east across the avenue when a southbound vehicle hit him.

The victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The at-fault driver took off, but police arrested him shortly after.
