[09-16-2023] Two People Killed After Suspected DUI Crash in San RafaelTwo people were killed after a suspected DUI crash in San Rafael on Saturday morning, September 16, 2023.

According to the San Rafael Fire Department, the fatal crash happened around 7:00 a.m. in the 500 block on Canal Street.

Witness reports indicate that a vehicle was traveling at about 70 mph when it went past the end of the street and was submerged in the waterway.

The two unidentified occupants were extricated from the water and pronounced dead at the scene.

The preliminary investigation by the authorities showed that alcohol may have been involved, and they have yet to provide further information about the fatal crash.
