The driver of a 2016 Acura TLX was killed, and the driver of a 2022 Ram Thor camper van sustained moderate injuries in a head-on collision in Fresno on Sunday morning, September 14, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded around 8:35 a.m. on American Avenue just west of Navalencia Avenue.
The Acura, driven by a 28-year-old man, veered left into the path of the eastbound camper van, driven by a 62-year-old man. The van driver attempted to slow down but collided with the Acura, causing it to spin out of control and come to rest on the south shoulder. The Acura driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Ram camper also carried a 62-year-old female passenger asleep on the bed in the back, who was thrown forward during the crash; her condition has not been reported. Both drivers were reportedly wearing seatbelts, and drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be factors.
Authorities continue to investigate the collision.
