[09-13-2026] Fresno County, CA – Elderly Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on McKinley Ave. and Normal Ave.

A pedestrian in his late 70s or early 80s was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Fresno on Sunday night, September 13, 2026.

According to Fresno Police Lt. Alfonso Castillo, officers responded at around 8:30 p.m. to the area of McKinley Avenue and Normal Avenue.

Officers found the pedestrian lying in the roadway, where he was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said the man was apparently attempting to cross the street from south to northwest when he was struck.

The vehicle involved did not remain at the scene, prompting police to open a hit-and-run investigation. Investigators are searching for a sedan but have limited information about the vehicle.

Police said witnesses have been located, although they did not see the collision itself.

The Fresno Police Department continues to investigate the fatal crash.
