A man was killed after being struck by a hit-and-run driver at the intersection of East Ramsey and Val Monte streets in Banning on Thursday morning, September 11, 2025.
According to the Banning Police Department, officers responded around 5:30 a.m. A driver on East Ramsey spotted the pedestrian lying unconscious in the street and called 911. Riverside County Fire Department paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene. The identity of the pedestrian has not been released.
Investigators identified a suspect vehicle, a red Cadillac STS with front-end damage, which was located in the parking lot of an apartment complex on the 200 block of West Westward Avenue. A search warrant was served to seize the vehicle. Two individuals were detained and questioned but later released pending further investigation.
Authorities continue to investigate the hit-and-run and asked anyone with information to contact the Banning Police Department Detective Bureau.
