An empty tanker truck overturned following a collision with a pickup truck just outside Selma in Fresno County, early Thursday morning, September 10, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 3:00 a.m. on Highway 43.
CHP said the tanker truck was traveling northbound on Highway 43 while pulling two empty trailers used to transport flammable liquids. A pickup truck traveling in the opposite direction reportedly clipped the tanker’s side.
The impact caused the tanker truck to leave the roadway and overturn onto its side. The pickup truck came to a stop in a nearby orchard.
CHP said neither driver suffered serious injuries in the collision.
The pickup truck driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. Additional information about the driver was not immediately available.
The CHP continues to investigate the crash.
