[09-10-2025] Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck by Speeding Driver at Soscol Avenue and Third StreetA 70-year-old man was killed after being struck in a crosswalk by a 24-year-old driver at the intersection of Soscol Avenue and Third Street in Napa on Wednesday morning, September 10, 2025.

According to police, the crash occurred around 5:37 a.m. Charles C., of Napa, was walking northbound with a shopping cart when he stepped into the crosswalk and was struck by Eva Z., a Napa resident driving eastbound at approximately 40 mph in a 20 mph zone. 

The driver remained at the scene, and a voluntary blood test indicated she was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The driver was charged with misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter and infractions for speeding and failing to yield. 

Authorities continue to investigate the collision.
