[09-10-2024] Kings County, CA – Pedestrian Killed After Collision with Vehicle on Highway 198 Near Armona

A man was struck and killed by a Kia Sorento on Highway 198 near Armona, Kings County, on Tuesday night, September 10, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded to the scene east of 14th Avenue around 8:15 p.m. 

Investigators report that the man was crossing Highway 198 directly in front of the Kia Sorento when he was hit by the vehicle. He was transported to Adventist Medical Center, where he later died.

The driver of the Kia Sorento was not injured. Alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash, according to CHP.
