One person was killed, and two others were hospitalized when a car crashed into a guardrail in Oakland on Tuesday afternoon, September 10, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred just before 1:00 p.m. when a silver Toyota Prius hit the guardrail on the eastbound off-ramp of Interstate 580 to Seminary Avenue. 

The driver of the Prius was pronounced dead at the scene. The two other occupants were taken to a local hospital with major but non-life-threatening injuries.
