[09-07-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – One Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on 5 Freeway in Sun Valley

One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash on the Golden State (5) Freeway in Sun Valley, Los Angeles County, on Monday night, September 7, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision was reported around 10:41 p.m. on the southbound 5 Freeway at Sunland Boulevard.

A witness told CHP that a black sedan swerved across traffic lanes, struck the center divider, and overturned. 

One person was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity.

The CHP continues to investigate the fatal crash.
