A motorcyclist was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Long Beach on Saturday night, September 7, 2024.
The crash occurred around 9:40 p.m. near the intersection of 45th Street and Long Beach Boulevard.
Authorities stated that a 2021 Honda CR-V was traveling southbound on Long Beach Boulevard when it merged into the left turn lane to go eastbound on 45th Street. As the Honda turned, it was struck on the right passenger side by a northbound 2003 Yamaha motorcycle.
The motorcyclist was found in the roadway by responding officers and was transported to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The identity of the motorcyclist has not been released.
The driver of the Honda remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. The driver was also taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
