A driver was killed, and a passenger was severely injured after their motorcycle collided with a tree in Alameda County on Thursday evening, September 7, 2023.
The California Highway Patrol responded to the crash around 8:30 p.m. along North Livermore Avenue near Interstate 580.
Upon the arrival of authorities, they found a Harley Davidson in contact with a tree on the side of the road. They declared the male driver dead on the scene, while the female passenger was immediately rushed to the hospital by paramedics to be treated for major injuries.
Officers stated that no other vehicles were involved. There is no indication whether any substance contributed to the accident or whether distracted driving played a role.
The CHP is still carrying out the investigations. Those with information about the incident are encouraged to contact local authorities.
