[09-05-2025] 84-Year-Old Woman Killed in Crash Near Fifth and D Streets in OxnardAn 84-year-old woman on a motorized wheelchair was killed in a crash in Oxnard on Friday evening, September 5, 2025.

According to the Oxnard Police Department, officers responded shortly after 6:30 p.m. near the intersection of Fifth and D streets.

They found the woman lying near a Kia SUV and her wheelchair. She was transported to Ventura County Medical Center, where she later died. The SUV driver, a 55-year-old Oxnard resident, remained at the scene and cooperated with officers.

Police reported that the SUV was traveling westbound on Fifth Street toward D Street when the woman in the wheelchair was crossing from the south sidewalk to the north sidewalk. 

Investigators do not believe speed or impairment were factors in the crash. Authorities continue to investigate.
