According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported at 7:21 p.m. Dispatchers received a call that a vehicle had struck the teen, who suffered visible injuries to his left or right elbow. The extent of his injuries was not immediately known.

Deputies from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department and CHP responded to the scene. ASTREA, the sheriff’s helicopter, assisted in searching the area. By 8:20 p.m., deputies located the involved vehicle, though details about the driver were not released. Emergency medical personnel evaluated the teen at the scene, and his condition was not immediately available Friday night.

The CHP confirmed the incident is under investigation as a hit-and-run. No arrests had been made as of late Friday.
