An Apple Valley man was struck and killed by a pickup truck after parking his motorcycle along the side of Milpas Road in San Bernardino County on Thursday night, September 5, 2024.
The crash occurred at approximately 7:35 p.m. along Milpas Road, just north of Clark Road, in an unincorporated area between Apple Valley and Lucerne Valley, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The 45-year-old motorcyclist had parked his 2022 Harley-Davidson along the east edge of the roadway when a 2017 Dodge Ram 1500, driven by a 32-year-old Victorville man, struck him and the motorcycle. CHP officials believe the victim was standing near his motorcycle at the time of the crash.
The motorcyclist was transported to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. No arrests were made.
