[09-04-2026] Riverside County, CA – Student Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash on Victoria and Myrtle Ave.webpA Riverside Poly High School student was injured in a hit-and-run crash in Riverside on Friday afternoon, September 4, 2026.

According to the Riverside Police Department, the incident occurred around 3:40 p.m. near the intersection of Victoria and Myrtle avenues. Police said multiple callers reported that a vehicle struck the student before leaving the scene.

The student, whose identity has not been released, was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police said the student remained hospitalized a week after the crash but was in stable condition.

Detectives used information provided by the public and data from automated license plate readers to identify a suspect and the involved vehicle. Officers later located the unoccupied vehicle and impounded it as evidence.

Police identified the suspect only as a 47-year-old Bloomington man. After detectives contacted him, authorities said he turned himself in on Thursday, September 10.

The man was arrested and booked on suspicion of felony hit-and-run. Police have not publicly released his identity.

The investigation is ongoing.
