[09-04-2023] Two People Injured After Reckless Two-Vehicle Crash in MurrietaAt least two people were injured after two Lamborghini Huracans raced each other in Murrieta on a Monday evening, September 4, 2023.

The Murrieta Police Department responded to the collision around 6:30 p.m. along Jefferson Boulevard.

According to the initial investigation, two Huracan drivers decided to race each other when one lost control of the vehicle and crashed into an unsuspecting vehicle.

Authorities stated that with the severity of the wreckage, it is suspected that the sports cars were driving way above the 45-mile-per-hour speed limit in the area.

Officials said the driver of the crashed Lamborghini and the victim were rushed to the hospital and were treated for minor injuries.

The negligent driver, identified as “Austin” from Colorado, would be charged with reckless driving and street racing. The other Huracan involved with the illegal race continued to drive away during the incident and left the scene.

The authorities released no further details, and the crash is still under investigation.
