At least six people and four juveniles were injured after a vehicle in pursuit by authorities crashed into two other cars in Montclair on Sunday night, September 3, 2023.
Before the incident that occurred around 8:30 p.m., Montclair Police Department officers were in pursuit of a driver for reckless driving and refusing to yield to authorities.
The chase eventually led to the crash that harmed the six victims along the intersection of Monte Vista Avenue and Kingsley Street, with several of these victims being thrown out of their vehicles on impact.
Officials did not specify the condition of the four juveniles and two adults after the crash, and the extent of their injuries was unclear. It was neither specified which cars the victims were riding.
The suspect was identified as 19-year-old Micah M. and was booked at the West Valley Detention Center for evading arrest, causing serious bodily injury and child endangerment.
