[09-03-2023] 24-Year-Old Woman Killed, Bystander Injured Following Two-Vehicle Crash in BurbankA 24-year-old Saugus resident, Evonnie C., was killed after a violent two-vehicle collision in Burbank on Sunday afternoon, September 3, 2023.

According to the Burbank Police Department, the incident occurred at the intersection of Victory and Magnolia Boulevards at around 2:15 p.m.

BPD officers reported a collision between a Dodge Challenger and a black Nissan SUV. The Dodge sped through an intersection and struck the Nissan as it turned left, causing the Dodge to hit the curb, a traffic signal pole, and a power pole on the northeast corner of the boulevard.

Police arrived at the scene to find the woman still in the passenger seat. She was transported to Holy Cross Medical Center, where she later succumbed to her injuries. A nearby bystander was also injured by debris from the crash.

On the other hand, the Dodge driver sustained moderate non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Holy Cross Medical Center. The Nissan driver was unharmed and remained at the scene to cooperate with authorities.

It is unclear whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in this incident, pending an investigation.
