According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred in the area of State Route 12 and North Sierra Drive at around 7:18 a.m.

Witnesses told the CHP that the collision involved a silver pickup truck and a blue sedan. Officials said at least one person was pronounced dead at the scene.

No further information was released regarding how many were involved and injured in the crash. It is unclear what caused the incident, pending an investigation.
