Two people were killed, and one was seriously injured in a head-on collision on Highway 12 in San Andreas, Calaveras County, on Sunday evening, September 1, 2024.
According to the Calaveras Consolidated Fire Department, the crash occurred around 9:26 p.m. near Toyon Middle School. The incident involved two vehicles, resulting in the deaths of a young adult female and a young adult male.
A third young adult male sustained major injuries and was airlifted to a trauma center in the Central Valley. A small dog also perished in the crash.
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
