[09-01-2023] Riverside County, CA – 79-Year-Old Male Pedestrian Killed Following Vehicle Collision in Moreno Valley

A 79-year-old male pedestrian, identified as Victoriano E., was killed after a vehicle struck him in Moreno Valley on Friday afternoon, September 1, 2023.

According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the incident occurred in the 23900 block of Ironwood Avenue, just west of Heacock Street, before 5:00 p.m.

RCSD Sgt. Jaren H. reported a motorist traveling west on Ironwood while a pedestrian was on the road, crossing the avenue. Despite his best efforts, the driver could not avoid hitting the pedestrian. The unidentified driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene despite medical personnel arriving at the location within minutes. Officials said the motorist was not injured in the collision.

An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the crash.
