[09-01-2023] Man & 5-Year-Old Child Killed, 5 Others Injured After Two-Vehicle Crash Near Del ReyA man and a 5-year-old child were killed, while a family of five were injured after a two-vehicle collision near Del Rey, Fresno County, on Friday morning, September 1, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at the intersection of Jefferson and Bethel Avenues just before 8 a.m.

Authorities reported a Honda occupied by a man and a child heading east on Jefferson that apparently ran through a stop sign. At the same time, a Chevrolet Suburban carrying a family of five was traveling north on Bethel, where there was no stop sign.

The Chevrolet could not stop in time to avoid a collision. Both vehicles ended up in a nearby orchard after crashing into each other near the intersection.

The young victim and the Honda driver were pronounced dead at the scene, while the family of five sustained minor to moderate injuries.

No information was released regarding the identities of the people involved.
