According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash involved a Chevrolet Silverado traveling eastbound that veered off the roadway to the right and struck a tree. CHP stated that the truck had no other occupants.

The driver and a passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not released their identities. CHP is asking anyone with information about the crash to contact the Santa Rosa office.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
