[08-31-2024] Fresno County, CA – Two Men Hospitalized After Truck Collides with Tree in Yokuts Valley

Two men were hospitalized after their truck collided with a tree in Yokuts Valley, Fresno County, on Saturday evening, August 31, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 7:40 p.m. on Elwood Road, north of Highway 180.

Investigators determined that the truck was traveling northbound on Elwood Road when, for reasons yet to be determined, the driver veered to the right and traveled approximately 200 feet before colliding with a tree.

The driver sustained major injuries and was airlifted to a local hospital, while the passenger sustained moderate injuries and was transported by ground to the hospital.

CHP reports that both men appeared to be wearing seatbelts. It is currently unknown if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing. There is no additional information immediately available.
