[08-31-2023] Pedestrian Hospitalized Following Car Collision in CypressA pedestrian was hospitalized after being hit by a car in Cypress on Thursday evening, August 31, 2023.

According to the Cypress Police Department, the incident occurred at the intersection of Knott Avenue and Katella Avenue at around 11:30 p.m.

Officers of the CPD and the Orange County Fire Authority responded to a traffic collision where a pedestrian in a crosswalk was hit by a car. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.

The victim was rushed to UCI Medical Center in critical condition. No information about the victim’s identity was released, pending the investigation results.

It is unclear whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in this incident. The investigation into the crash continues.
