[08-27-2026] Imperial County, CA – Two Seriously Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash in Brawley_.webpTwo people suffered major injuries in a two-vehicle crash on State Route 78 in Brawley on Thursday night, August 27, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 8:09 p.m. on Highway 78, just east of Casey Road.

CHP reported that two vehicles were involved, including a white Chevrolet Equinox. Both lanes of Highway 78 were blocked following the collision while emergency crews responded to the scene.

Two people sustained major injuries and were airlifted to Desert Regional Medical Center for treatment. The Brawley Fire Department and other emergency personnel assisted with the response and coordinated air transportation for the injured individuals.

The investigation remains ongoing. No further details were immediately available.
