[08-26-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Vehicle Near Compton

A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle in the West Rancho Dominguez area near Compton early Wednesday morning, August 26, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident was reported around 4:10 a.m. at the intersection of Avalon Boulevard and East 13th Street.

CHP identified the pedestrian as a male only. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner was called to the location.

Authorities did not immediately release the pedestrian’s identity or additional information about the vehicle or driver involved.

The CHP continues to investigate the fatal crash.
