[08-25-2026] Ventura County, CA – 67-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle on Highway 101

A 67-year-old man was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Highway 101 in Ventura on Tuesday evening, August 25, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol’s Ventura Area office, the incident was reported around 6:31 p.m. on southbound Highway 101 near West Main Street.

CHP said a 47-year-old Thousand Oaks man was driving a Ford F-250 southbound when the pedestrian, who had been standing on the right shoulder, entered the traffic lanes for reasons that remain under investigation. The Ford then struck him.

The pedestrian sustained major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities did not immediately release his identity.

CHP said it remained unknown whether alcohol or drugs contributed to the incident. The investigation remains ongoing.
