[08-25-2026] Alameda County, CA – Box Truck Crash Causes Fuel Spill on I-80 in Oakland.webpA collision involving a box truck and a Tesla caused a fuel spill and significant traffic delays on Interstate 80 in Oakland early Tuesday morning, August 25, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported around 2:40 a.m. on the westbound I-80 at the MacArthur Maze connection to Interstates 580 and 880.

The box truck sustained significant damage, and authorities reported that gas or oil from the crash entered a storm drain.

All lanes were initially stopped before one lane was reopened to traffic. CHP issued a SigAlert, with the Nos. 2 and 3 lanes remaining closed while crews worked at the scene.

By approximately 7 a.m., the two right lanes remained unavailable, and westbound traffic was reportedly backed up as far as El Cerrito.

Additional information regarding possible injuries and the circumstances leading to the collision was not immediately available.
