[08-25-2025] One Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on Artesia Freeway Near Alameda Street in ComptonOne person was killed in a two-vehicle collision on the Artesia (91) Freeway in Compton early Monday morning, August 25, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported at about 12:08 a.m. on the eastbound 91 Freeway at the Alameda Street exit.

Authorities said one of the vehicles left the freeway, overturned, and came to rest on its roof with several occupants inside. Compton Fire Department paramedics worked for several minutes to extricate the victims.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released.

All eastbound lanes of the freeway were temporarily closed while CHP officers investigated the crash.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
