[08-24-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle in Torrance

A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Torrance on Monday night, August 24, 2026.

According to the Torrance Police Department, officers and Torrance Fire Department personnel responded to the incident at around 8:40 p.m. at Madrona Avenue at Garnet Street.

Police said the pedestrian was crossing Madrona Avenue outside a marked crosswalk. Southbound traffic had yielded to the pedestrian, but as he continued across the roadway, a northbound vehicle struck him.

Torrance Fire Department personnel provided medical aid, but the victim died from his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not released his identity.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police determined that the driver was not under the influence of alcohol.

The Torrance Police Department continues to investigate the fatal crash.
